I am passionate about communication; how we speak to one another in the workplace and our personal lives, and most importantly, how we listen. Through my own experiences and interests I have realized how important it is to give others the opportunity to express themselves and feel heard, while building a foundation of trust.
Mediation can be used to help improve working relationships between individuals, perhaps where there has been a misunderstanding or a disagreement. Mediation is a versatile process which can be used not only as an alternative to pursuing formal grievance but also as a rapid first intervention to prevent escalation of a dispute or even to repair the working relationship after formal procedures have been concluded.
I have over 20 years of professional experience within health & wellness, government, engineering & aerospace industries. I’ve worked with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Parsons Corporation, Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Orange County Sanitation District, City of Garden Grove, City of Long Beach, US Army, Los Angeles Superior Court, and Long Beach Court.
My formal education started with a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration with a focus on Administration Management and later led me to a Master of Arts in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution and Peace-building with a focus on Organizational Change and Conflict Management. I’ve received advanced training in Mediation and Conflict Resolution while mediating litigated cases, with an emphasis in diversity and cross-cultural communication. I am on the panel for California Academy of Mediation Professionals (CAMP) for Civil Harassment and Unlawful Detainer suits in Los Angeles Superior Courts. I mediate some of the most hostile and complex disputes.
As an expert in conflict resolution and a mediator, I facilitate otherwise difficult conversations. My passion is work place disputes, leadership building and organizational change.
